Title: I'm not seeing the outrage towards BoA? Post by: MFAWG on September 30, 2011, 06:56:40 PM They're going to charge 5 bucks a month to use your debit card for POS purchases, no matter how many or how few times you use it.
Here's a thought: If you don't want to pay the 5 bucks, don't use the friggin' thing! It's ALL in the customer's hands, and that seems fair enough to me. Title: Re: I'm not seeing the outrage towards BoA? Post by: dystopia on October 01, 2011, 07:54:42 PM Looks like Citibank is next.
Citibank is next with a new banking fee http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-1001-citi-checking-fees-20111001,0,5755568.story I'm pretty indifferent. I've never used a debit card for purchases. I was actually short BofA for a while but covered late last week. Title: Re: I'm not seeing the outrage towards BoA? Post by: Aske on October 03, 2011, 08:17:33 AM Or they could pay cash and keep the 60 bucks. how exactly do you stick cash into an order on amazon, ebay, costco.com or whatever else people in theory--- that bad off--- should be spending at to save $ ? Title: Re: I'm not seeing the outrage towards BoA? Post by: MFAWG on October 03, 2011, 06:15:47 PM Honestly: I had not thought of that! My scenario involves being at the grocery or some other brick and mortar store where your options are to use a $5.00 per use out of network ATM or to pay the 5 bucks once a month for as many times as you want to use it. That's still not as good as free, but it's better than 5 bucks an occurence.
Here's one idea: Prepaid Visa? Title: Re: I'm not seeing the outrage towards BoA? Post by: MFAWG on October 04, 2011, 06:22:18 PM So I did something TOTALLY shocking: I went to the bank and asked them. Online purchases made with a Visa or MC logoed debit card will not be subject to the fee, although they were unclear on if anybody even takes a flat out debit card on line and whether or not that would apply. Like I said, not that huge a deal. |
