Title: Dumb FF question Post by: spacey on December 22, 2006, 10:53:22 AM I installed a FF upgrade the other day and now links here, and in that other place, that used to open in a new tab now navigate within the already open tab. I have looked and can't find an obvious way to fix this. Anyone?
Title: Re: Dumb FF question Post by: dystopia on December 22, 2006, 11:10:07 AM That's strange. I'm having trouble reproducing this on my machine. I'm running version Firefox/2.0.0.1.
I don't even seen any sort of setting for something like "open new page using same tab" under |Options|Tabs. Didn't you at one time install an extension related to tabs, something about how you didn't like how the close button worked or something like that? (*edit, Tab Mix Plus?*) Maybe you could try disabling some extensions to see if that makes a difference. Title: Re: Dumb FF question Post by: spacey on December 22, 2006, 11:15:05 AM Good call. It looks like it's an issue with Tab Mix Plus. I guess I'll have to spend some time in there to see if I can figure it out.
Title: Re: Dumb FF question Post by: Aske on December 22, 2006, 11:21:29 AM yep, just tinker with your tab mix plus or tab browser pref. extensions

Just curious, what was the remedy? Turns out that the "remedy" I thought I found wasn't really a remedy. There is an option in Tab Mix Plus to tell it to force links to open in a new tab, you can select to force all links to open in a new tab, or only links that direct to a new site. I selected the latter. Apparently, though, it's a less than perfect solution. Some internal links on sites like Ebay appear to link to a different site, so navigating those sites proves problematic. I've just disabled Tab Mix Plus for now until I feel like spending more time looking for the real fix. Title: Re: Dumb FF question Post by: Aske on December 23, 2006, 09:49:18 AM Figured it out.
