Title: Re: Most Online Ever

Would it be possible/too much work, to make it a hyperlink to a list of who was there during the moment the record was made?

It's possible, but it might not be that interesting.

For example, of the 27 that set the record today, 15 of them could have been lurkers.  Plus another 3 people online at the time could have been hidden, and I would respect those that choose to walk in shadows, so I wouldn't display their names.  So displaying only 9 members might not be that interesting.

I think it would be interesting to those who are curious (me).

Like just a line for Lurkers with the number
And then a list of members with a parenthesis with a number if there were hidden members.

Of course, if I'm the only one curious don't bother with the hassle.

Do Spiders count as "online"?  About 1/2 hour ago we had more spiders than users!

nope, spiders are excluded from the online count.  Just lurkers and members.

I still don't get the hidden thing.  If you post, it's obvious you are here.  Your post doesn't say hidden.  If you don't post, then you are lurking.  Don't sign in, and just lurk.

Anything else, and you're serving no purpose here, so just go away.

I think staying hidden is just a different way of lurking.  It allows you to stay logged in all the time.

Some people use the site mainly by using the "unread posts since last visit" link which shows which threads have been updated since your last visit, but this requires you to be logged in.

Other people just look at the Recent Posts on the front page.  Still others, go into each section (Saloon, Equipment, etc.) every time and view threads that way.
