Title: Sorry E-A-G-L-E
Post by: Fuzzy on March 22, 2008, 08:51:48 AM
I know you love winter but its officially spring now and I have had ENOUGH!

at least 9" of snow as of this morning and it's still snowing. I really need it to stop. Seriously. No more.

¡No *feces*!

(Discussing with the BIL yesterday.  My prediction, I'll be taking a Wed. off the week following The Masters.  He thinks way before then.  I say he's overly optomistic.  Will be interesting to see.)

I believe for 4k+ per hour, he's planning on keeping his home base here, and flying out when called.

 ;D

Even at $4k per hour that might be a tougher sell on the home front than moving south.

Uh.  What about the Drew Pearson push off in the '75 NFC championship game that knocked The Queens out of the Super Bowl?  Fuzzy ain't gonna just lay down and forget about some *feces* like that.

I'm from Buffalo and watched the Cowgirls beat them twice in the SB. I got over it.

[sm_rolling]

Dad was just saying this morning that it doesn't look like the second day of spring, and Chelsea said, "It's not spring.  It's winter!"

I do like winter, more specifically the snow, but it's not my favorite season.  However, at the moment I can't decide whether I like spring and the newness it brings, summer with warm temps, or fall and its beautiful colors. :D

The little ones were outside for awhile this afternoon, and now our front yard has 2 snowmen and a Christmas tree in it.  It looks kinda like this (except without the lights):

I thought about putting AD jerseys on them, but they would get stolen after 5 minutes. ;) ;D

For you Torp:

Hate the Packers. Neutral on the Brewers (despise Selig however). Could care less about the Bucks.

Badgers rule but I will admit I am torn when the Gophers are involved. Born and raised in MN (plus Susan is an alum) meant the maroon and gold were a given.

Well, if the state of Wisconsin agreed to get rid of all the Cheesehead teams and only be fans of Minnesota's sport teams, I might consider it. ;) ;D

Higher rated engineering school. Reciprocity on in-state tuition. Far enough away from home to be "away" at college.

One other reason. At the time MN was using trimesters and school started mid to late September and didn't get out until mid June.

"Normal" colleges on semesters started around labor day and got out mid May. Getting a jump on the summer jobs was nice. MN finally rectified their silly schedule a few years ago.

most important factor in learning how to grow up IMHO

Completely agree.

Good call.  I saw this with friends that stayed in our hometown for college.  Some of them had sort of a "socially underdeveloped" vibe from never getting out of the echo chamber of where we grew up nor getting to open their minds to a larger world out there.

One other reason...

I spent a few Halloweens down there, State Street if the foggy memory recalls correctly.  Those weekends were almost enough to get me there.

By the way, I'll die a Southerner, though hopefully not anytime soon.  Leaving behind the snow is not a bad thing, my friend.
