I don't usually expect to stump this crowd on music.

A bit of a trick question probably.  You won't hear those words on the radio version.

Looks like it could be a Hendrix tune. Is it some extended version of Hey Joe?

Clue #4.  Those words are spoken right at the beginning of the song before a note is played.

Clue #5.  You've all heard the song 100s of times but I suspect unless you own the album/track you may not have heard those words.

I was thinking Temptations or some other Motown?

Has a Sly Stone feel.

Your last one.  I wouldn't have gotten it without that.  Never heard the album version, but the over and over struck a chord.  So to speak.

Ok, I'll think on one.

You watch it stroh.  That carefully constructed illiterate man in a bottle persona is gonna take a hit if you keep on usin' yer smarts like that.   ;)

When I was looking for clues for that one I found the answer wasn't readily available on-line.  I have defeated Google.  I am Uisce the Magnificent.

I'm stunned that anybody would actually own a Tommy James and the Shondells album.

Technically I don't.  iTunes track.  But I would.  I like them.

Why do you hate sweet cherry wine?

Like Sweet Cherry Wine not so much, but The Hanky Panky very much!

A quick Wiki shows that Tommy James was no one hit wonder, either.

Turned down an offer to play Woodstock!
