Jupiter is a big, fat, gaseous glutton that swallows up everything in sight. And thank Jove that it is what it is.

That means it has been 15 years since Mosaic revolutionized Al Gore's internet, which became the intertubes the moment NASA broadcast virtually real time pictures of fragments of comet Chandra Levy colliding with Jupiter.

Watching that, I got on the phone right away with the Grand Pooba of the National Academy of Sciences, and implored him to help me broadcast my fruit fly pröñ (http://media1.suntimes.com/multimedia/121007flies_cst_feed_20071209_15_15_04_3331-282-400.imageContent), so the world would know of my science, too.

We thought, with it, we could easily convince lay people of the goodness of our deeds.

We just didn't bank on an entrenched, non-evolving, opposition (http://i694.photobucket.com/albums/vv308/IVAN3MAN/denialism1final.jpg?t=1248198701).
