Title: Re: winnipeg? Post by: Dunk on May 17, 2009, 08:12:11 AM I'll believe it when I see it.
Bettman's an idiot. As commissioner, he's overseen the moves of four teams from "traditional" hockey markets, and when those teams struggle financially, he blocks efforts to relocate those teams back to traditional markets. In Golfhos lingo, "HATE"! Title: Re: winnipeg? Post by: MFAWG on May 17, 2009, 08:31:50 AM Yup. Portland's all ready to go, and keeps getting shot down.

In Golfhos lingo, "HATE"! Bettman's an idiot x2. The television cluster that has been this year's playoffs has been absurd. Multiple game 7's scheduled at the same time therefore only being able to watch one IF you actually can find the channel it is on with this joke of a TV contract........JOINED IN PROGRESS game 7's, are you kidding me?!!!!! It's almost like he wants to reduce the league to a niche, regional sport. Title: Re: winnipeg? Post by: MFAWG on May 17, 2009, 06:15:46 PM Quote Portland or Seattle would definitely support a team. Seattle doesn't have a ready to go arena, thanks to the foresight of the City Fathers who allowed the ownership of the Sonics to dictate how the previous remodeling of Key Arena would be done. It was remodeled specifically to host basketball ONLY at a major league level Completely unsuitable for even minor league hockey, and I say that as a guy whose seen plenty of hockey games as currently configured. OTOH, The Rose Garden is ready to go, and there's even a suitable arena right next door to boot! |
