The front facade of the Parthenon is not actually straight. The columns are angled ever so slightly so that they appear vertical from a great distance.

to be worn proudly, though most 'merkans won't get it.

Sal's sister had her wedding today. followed by a nice reception at a really upscale bar/restaruant/ place about 2 miles in the foothills of the acropolis.  it was amazing-- the locale, the view, the food, the everything.  aparently, the place is also literally right next door (50m )to the parliament house and the old royal palace. -- I do mean RIGHT next door. and no fences or anything.  can you imagine that here next to the white house?

Y'all can see more details here: http://www.cibusaegli.gr/
Click on ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΑ (the word next to ENGLISH), then Photo Gallery.

I did not expect my sis would book such a nice place in the short time she had to plan for this all. I'm one proud big sister. I'm also full of the best chocolate mousse I ever had.

Tomorrow, we go watch Real Football (TM)

Have a good time, and drink some Ouzo for me. The real *feces*, not the watered down swill we get here!

The real *feces* is almost hallucinogenic.  Buddy of mine brought some homemade back from Greece a few years ago when he was visiting family there.  Whew!!! [sm_shock]

It's probably the most peaceful place I've ever been other than camping out all the way out in the Grand Canyon.

I miss the views of the Med. There is nothing like it over here. I really do hope some day I can take Darla over there. Never been to Greece but I was in Italy, Sardinia actually but still.
