Title: Kicking a guy when he's down

I'm not sure how the last sentence in this news item is relevant to what he did but it elicited an audible "how un-shocking" from this reader.

Quote
Police: Blackmail letters target south metro teachers, demand large payments

Nearly two dozen letters attempting to extort money from teachers, and possibly other employees, at several south metro schools were sent by a 39-year-old man, authorities said today.

The Eagan man was apprehended late Saturday morning. Charges are pending. He's being held in the Dakota County jail on $100,000 bail.

According to the Dakota County Sheriff's Office, the man sent letters "to 23 victims threatening to blackmail and extort money."

And the very last sentence of the story:

Quote
The man lives with his parents, said his mother, who declined further comment.

In all my forays into the exciting world of extortion I've never considered public school teachers.  Hindsight is 20/20.

Interesting, where 20/20 could also be in your future.
