I watched for 5 minutes, but the combination of smurf turf and Brent Musburger was too much for me so I came back to the computer. Title: Re: [SPOILERS] Alabama-Arkansas, UCLA-Texas Post by: gleek on September 25, 2010, 10:35:52 PM Nice win there, Badgers. 4th game into the season, and you're still playing an FCS team? Fookin' pussies.

Fookin' pussies. at least they won [sm_shock] penn st almost lost to temple. oh wait, temple isn't FCS :o I think when $ wins and the conferences realign to either 5x16 or (much less likely 6x16) in 4-5 years you'll see the end of "fcs" playing fbs at all except if its a team that is now out of the "fbs" being demoted to a fcs league (if such things can even still survive...) which has a rivalry game with an fbs school that is historic and profitable. You'll more likely see the 8 game in conference division games, and then some sort of 3-4 game ooc rotating schedule for most teams (like the nfl) with other conferences, except perpetual "powers" possibly violating this and scheduling eachother as early measuring stick games. This is how I think the schools, conferences, and BCS will get around the playoff issue, and it means about 20-40 schools will not "make the cut" . What would be neat under such a scenario, though of course not feasible given this is college sports, not pro ball, is to do relegation/promotion of the worst performers/best performers. I watched for 5 minutes, but the combination of smurf turf and Brent Musburger was too much for me so I came back to the computer. I just turned it in for a few minutes before heading out for the hockey match, so I didn't notice Musberger. How does he still have a job? The REAL problem with the smurfturf is that it's starting to expand into other areas, sort of like a slow moving cancer: (http://media.spokesman.com/photos/2010/08/27/ewufield_t450.jpg) Sure, it's just a couple of fairly small schools out west now, but unless we put a halt to this it could get really, really ugly. |
