Yesterday we had roads closed off everywhere and the bus from work to the train station was 35 minutes late (this bus runs every 15 minutes.) Uisce, smart lad, figures he'll drive today so as to avoid the same problem. Then he gets the bright idea to play nine on the way down. Done by 8:00 and on his way. So far so good.
Down around Spacey's neck of the woods all of a sudden I-15 crawls to a halt. The radio says the POTUS is motoring from the ANG base to the LDS church headquarters. The delight I felt a minute ago as I jumped off the freeway for a surface road into the city turns to dismay as I do the math. About three miles later I was still cruising along pretty well and then, screech, hold everything. I spent the next 30 minutes sitting in my car facing down capitol hill and looking at the church office building. Nothing moved, and I mean nothing, for half an hour. But I heard Peace Train on the radio so it was cool.
