Title: Ooh-wee! It's hot out there! Post by: gleek on June 12, 2007, 04:28:07 PM Just ran an errand. The outside temperature reading in my car was 99° F. While the car was moving it dropped down to a frigid 96° F. To think, it's not (technically) summer yet.

It's 61° F in San Francisco right now. LOL The weather in the East Bay along the water is usually very mild. Berkeley is 75° F right now. Go out to the Pacific side of the peninsula, and you'll have to wear a light jacket even in the summer. Go inland about 15 miles and it's hot as hell. The Bay Area microclimates are crazy. I remember one day one summer, it was 60° F in Pacifica and over 100° F in Pleasanton. The two cities are less than 40 miles apart as the crow flies. Title: Re: Ooh-wee! It's hot out there! Instead of a little sun, or maybe a sun with some clouds, it has a red thermometer with what I think are flames coming out of it. :o

Down here when the temps get to over 100 everyone is OK but when temps get to <50 everyone is complaining about the cold. Up north it's the opposite. Bay area is weird with the weather, among other things.

Oh, I am! :D I love the change of seasons that Minnesnowta has. Winter blasts us with snow and cold temps. Spring is refreshing as the grass turns green and the temps warm a bit. Summer we get some nice "hot" temps and storms. Fall tends to be a nice, slightly cooler extension of summer that gradually (and sometimes not so gradually) fades into winter. Absolutely love it. Summer is *probably* my favorite season. I do so enjoy the storms that we have in the mid-west, the wind, the rain, the lightning are all so beautiful, even tornadoes simply fascinate me. I'd do well in the south for as much as I enjoy the warmer temps, but I like each season for its own uniqueness. And for that reason I'd miss having winters without snow, etc., so I really am a Minnesnowta girl. |
