No, not the homoerotic, assless chaps, humid grotto member to member things you're thinking right now.  Its our club's two man team tourney today and tomorrow.

GammaPi and I have teamed up - and we need some mojo!  Seems we have one team with a scratch golfer teamed up with a high handicapper that's a known sandbagger.  We are challenged in correcting it, as he is also the majority owner  [sm_devil].  Anyway, it'll be hard to overcome the advantages that team has on paper.

First day went well (so bite me Uisce!)!  Its Stableford scoring with quotas applied for the handicaps (36 - course handicap = quota to beat).  I was 4 over my quota, GammaPi 3 over - for a 7 over team score, which has us in the running at least.  We played with the leaders (really good guys, was a fun day) - they had a team score of 13 over (Nick had a hot putter).

Here's the kicker - our quotas for tomorrow are adjusted by half of our score today, so mine goes up 2 points for tomorrow, Gamma 1 point  :-\.  The good news - our known sandbagger goes up 5 points  [sm_devil] :) (his team is in second at 12, he was 10 of them  ::) ).

Sorry, no cart girls - just a 'halfway' house that we pass twice during the round.  We did have our loveliest booze maid working tonight though - tall, thin, young blonde with a great personality - Gamma took pause while staring at her backside after dinner.  I had to shake him out of his trance.


8:30 tomorrow for more!  We're not that close to the leaders, but with the quota adjustments it makes it harder for them to repeat.  Our balanced attack may prove worthy of a showing.

How right I was!  We tied for 3rd in our flight, taking in some Pro Shop credit well beyond our entry fee  8)

We actually lost points from yesterday's total, but most teams did after the quota adjustment and no 'lift, clean, and place' (from the rain we had) today.  Our final tally was 4, after losing 3 points today.

The real fun was the Calcutta though - I had never been through one before, so I was just sitting on the sidelines and observing last night.  Seems one of the guys on my blind draw team won the bid on our team and all four of us ended up splitting it.  It was a healthy sum of money for not knowing what I was getting into ($1,050 split 4 ways), but I didn't want to be the heel and not participate.  Good thing too - we got 2nd place!!!!  :D :D 8) 8).  So in addition to the new Pro Shop credits I have, I also walked away with $800 cold hard cash on the Calcutta!  :)  Minus my portion of the bid it is still $537 to the good.  Not bad for being completely unaware of how it all worked  ;)
