yeah, it's gotten really bad with those errors in the last couple of days. :sad3:

Except the site was down for me a bit today around 2ish, I think.

SWAG #1 - Database.  Nine times out of ten.

I've somehow developed a keen sense of smell when it comes to ill-behaving webapps.   :sad3:

i browsed the kattare site and found some other  hosted sites,  tried pinging to them from a variety of boxes across the east coast, many with some of the best conxns around and every site came back as 100% packet loss.   i imagine the data center went down, or their  main pipe went down.

I haven't seen those 403 errors in a while.  I think they fixed something on their end.

i only saw those a few seemingly random times, fwiw.
my biggest gripe is the long downtimes.

I wasn't getting the Kattarre screen, but a small one that said the server was busy.

If that's all you got, you lucked out. I got this creepy-ass kitten picture. At least that's what I think it was.

I got the damn cat as well.

I used to get the Kattare screen a lot at home.  haven't seen it in a while.

I thought dystopia put up the cat pic. when he put the new form link up.

I put the cat picture up for a while. (for golfhos not the mirror site)

I later changed it so there's a shoutbox instead of the cat, just in case in the future this type of problem arises (database down, but webserver up)

I'm wrapping up another project right now, but I'll start looking at new hosting options in a few weeks.

yeh, my newest gripe against them (and certainly not dystopia!)  was that their hosting was down again last night for at least 2, if not 3-4 hours.  (i gave up waiting and did other things)

WTF happened this morning? I got the annex site, but both golfhos and dystopia were down.

BTW there are some creepy people on that annex site.

It's on my list of things to do.  I need to do some research, though.  I'd like to move to something like Amazon's EC2 Compute Cloud instead of an old school hosting joint, but I haven't had time to properly evaluate it.
