Title: [Politics/Religion] I haven't heard ONE talking head outside of
Post by: MFAWG on December 07, 2010, 06:28:31 PM
Randi Rhodes mention the 2 pct payroll tax cut coming down the pike for those of us what still have decent jobs.

Serious question: Why is that? Here you have a classic piece of keynesian economics at work, and everybody is all arglybargly about the top 2 pct.

The reality is that a tax HIKE on the top 2 pct at this point in time carries a great deal of risk.

I was talking about the Obama plan, maybe I misunderstood what you were talking about.

Then again, I've never liked this cut/raise nomenclature thing when it was basically a "sale price" to begin with.

I was talking in the larger sense: If no deal gets done, EVERYBODY gets an increase. Everything else is sort of splitting hairs at this point.

Don't know the answer to this: Was the 2 pct reduction in employee withholding (INCLUDING SS and Medicare) first proposed by the GOP, Congressional Democrats, or The White House?

The whole 'Cut' thing was a left wing myth. It's just cheap semantics. It was going to be an increase on everybody.

Original question remains: I seriously have not heard ONE news outlet report on  the tax CUT (actual) for the bottom 65 pct.

Is it just that the number isn't ****y enought? It's just a couple of bucks a week for most people. They won't even notice it if they work hourly.
