Nice!  I love the terrain and cool rock formations around Phuket .  Such an amazing place.  Feels like being on another planet in some areas.

This hole looks cool.  Did you get the distance/drop correct?

IIRC, it was 145 yds.  Hit a pw to about 5' short of the flag and 10' to the right.  Couldn't buy a putt that day and walked off with a par.

So, do the caddies just chauffeur you around in the cart?

They also do the normal things a caddy would do; clean your clubs, rake bunkers give yardage, read the greens, etc.  Trust me, this isn't a course I'd want to walk when it's 91º and the dew point is sitting at 78=80º.  All courses in Phuket require a caddy.  It was approx. $30 US for caddy/cart.

I  just returned from a 16 day trip to Phuket, Thailand.  I played two rounds of golf while there.  Loch Palm, the first day out.  Forgot the camera, so no pic's that day.  Shot a smooth 88, on a sweltering hot day.  Not too bad for the first round since the end of Sept.  The second round was played at Red Mountain Golf Club.  I didn't play as well, shot a 95 or 96.  But, I remembered to take the camera along on that day.  The course is built on a reclaimed tin mine.  Enjoy:

Nin, my caddy for the day

"I would think it would be an ideal application, given that range isn't really the issue it is with passenger vehicles. Am I missing something?

Besides, nobody in the history of EVER has done it, amirite?

I grew up in farm country in southwest ND.  Many of these guys are running a 24/7 operation to get the crop into the ground for two to three weeks and some are out for 4 weeks.  I really don't see a feasible way to run a tractor without using diesel fuel.  You also must realize that these large tractors have  engines that are putting out 360-560 hp.  That would take an enormous electric engine to put out that kind of power.  Locomotives do it, but even they need to run a generator that burns guess what, diesel fuel.  Same thing getting the crop out of the ground, except that then they aren't running 24 hrs a day.  Late evening it usually gets to humid to thrash the grain.

Do a search and read about the Abiotic Theories.  The Russians are or were drilling well past what is thought to be the "known" depth of organic matter.

And who can forget the Solyndra scandal.  The taxpayers are out half a billion dollars on that great green energy source.  And I think that I saw a blurb that there was another solar energy company that screwed the taxpayers out of more than Solyndra.

From the story:

When it was Mr. Hamm's turn to talk briefly with President Obama, "I told him of the revolution in the oil and gas industry and how we have the capacity to produce enough oil to enable America to replace OPEC. I wanted to make sure he knew about this."

The president's reaction? "He turned to me and said, 'Oil and gas will be important for the next few years. But we need to go on to green and alternative energy. [Energy] Secretary [Steven] Chu has assured me that within five years, we can have a battery developed that will make a car with the equivalent of 130 miles per gallon.'"

Good luck getting a tractor and a combine to run on this green energy source.  The Libtards are too stupid to realize that it take fossil fuels to put food on the table.

Not to mention that every oil well that is drilled employs in the neighborhood of 100 workers.

As far as making oil, the earth does it on its' own.  There probably isn't a place on the earth that you couldn't hit oil if you drilled deep enough.  MFAWG, you might want to study geology/geo-physics.

It wasn't an issue when he was elected to Congress, and it's probably not an issue after Stephanopolous shove the Birf Certifikit in Michelle Bachmann's face yesterday.

Was it a Birth Certificate or the Certificate of Live Birth?  Big difference between the two.  CLB is basically a worthless piece of paper.  When I was in the USAF, in order to get my security clearance, I had to produce the actual (certified copy)Birth Certificate.  One would think that the Commander in Chief would need to do the same, as his level of clearance was 2 levels above mine.  But, Obama spent in the neighborhood of 2 million dollars in legal fees to avoid doing so.

I got back home to the snow and cold of Minnesota on Thursday afternoon.  After spending 14 days in Thailand for fun and sun, it was a shock to the system.  The second set is from the Similan Islands, on of the top dive destinations in the world.

In order to save myself some time, I'm going to send you off to FGI to see the pictures. Just takes too long to repost 150 dive photo's.

They can be seen here: http://www.freegolfinfo.c.../forums/tm.aspx?m=2725827

Forget Socialism for a minute........

How the *fudge* do we pay for A, unless money comes in from B?

At least that's how it works at my house.

Tax cuts don't make the deficit any smaller.

Isn't it that simple?

What I think, in an over-simplified way, what they are doing is trying to get the economy on to a faster recovery.  By getting the economy healed they will bring in more in taxes with more people working and less drawing unemployment.  JMO.

People b1tch and moan that the wealthy gets tax breaks.  They are already bearing a greater burden of the tax base than lower income folks.  What about those that pay zero in income tax, but get a tax refund?  Is that fair to those of us who actually pay into the system?

That's the main reason that I believe that our tax system needs a major overhaul.

The Twins have a fundamental problem.  At best, they are an average team in a suck ass division.  Of course, the homer Twins fans will tell  me that I am delusional.  Send the Orioles over here to the AL Central, and move the Twins into the AL East, and let's see how they fare having to face the Yankees, Red Sox, and Rays on a more regular basis.

Things that need to happen for the Twins to move on to the next level.
1.  Get a manager in here that can motivate the players.  I truly believe that if Gardy lived in New York, he'd be lucky if he could coach at the Junior Legion level.

2.  Get new ownership that isn't afraid to spend a bit of money wisely.  The only thing the Pohlads are concerned with is making money.  They conned the public into building a nice new stadium, but put the same average product out there.  When the luster of the new shiny ball park fades, they'll be back to drawing 20,000 fans like they did in the dome.  These p.o.s. pitchers they brought in to "bolster" the roster are a joke.  Along with that, get a few power hitters that can get it done in clutch situations.   Hell, get someone who can get a hit in a clutch situation period.

Disregard the fact that he is a multi-billionaire.  He earned the money and paid taxes on it.  Why should it be taxed again when he passes it on to his heirs? I probably wouldn't have a problem with it if the death tax rate was a little more reasonable.  But, 45% get real.
