I'll start: Smoking Aces? Can you tell that I'm a new HD-DVD owner? ;D ;D Title: Re: Movie/DVD review Thread Post by: hobbit on November 02, 2007, 11:41:42 AM I was disappointed in Smoking Aces. Its not a bad movie really, I just thought it could have been better.
The Company? (I know it was on TV, but I didn't watch it) Bobby? Title: Re: Movie/DVD review Thread Post by: Aske on November 02, 2007, 11:48:43 AM Smoking Aces is so-so (contrary to rick, better than I expected), but on HD-DVD the interactivity/online features are pretty neat.

LOL [sm_rolling] Title: Re: Movie/DVD review Thread Post by: Spanky on November 02, 2007, 12:22:01 PM Isn't this a bad movie from the 80s starring Burt Reynolds? Stroker Ace. Gwad I can't believe I pulled that one out of my ass.Title: Re: Movie/DVD review Thread Post by: spacey on November 02, 2007, 12:43:14 PM I thought Smokin' Aces was pretty meh. The action is pretty good, the editing gave me a headache, the plot is fine but the storyline is sloppy. The ending was pretty lame, IMO. It's a fine "popcorn" movie, if you're not expecting any kind of intellectual payoff. Jeremy Pivin is always good even in bad films.
Transformers? Title: Re: Movie/DVD review Thread Post by: hobbit on November 02, 2007, 12:45:45 PM I thought Smokin' Aces was pretty meh. The plot was fine, but the storyline was disjointed and missing something. Title: Re: Movie/DVD review Thread Post by: Teed on November 02, 2007, 12:48:36 PM I thought Smokin' Aces was pretty meh. Visually stunning, pretty cool plot, and great special effect. My wife was even awestruck w/ this movie and she's not into any type of sci-fi movie. Title: Re: Movie/DVD review Thread Post by: Spanky on November 03, 2007, 07:22:24 AM Will be watching Transformers tonight.
Last night watched Knocked Up. All I can say is LMFAO. The deleted Brokeback Mountain scene was hilarious. Otherwise I thought it was a visually stunning. Story and acting were as you would expect but the action was fantastic.
And I really want a Camero now. Title: Re: Movie/DVD review Thread Post by: spacey on November 03, 2007, 11:11:19 PM And I really want a Camero now. You realize they don't turn into robots, right? Besides, Bumblebee is supposed to be a VW Beetle. >:( (http://www.bwtf.com/newsarchive/minibots/bumblebee.jpg) Title: Re: Movie/DVD review Thread Post by: Uisce Beatha on November 04, 2007, 08:48:31 AM Who gives a chit if they turn into robots? :o
