I said it before and I'll say it again. Watching Favre trot out in purple for the 1st game of the year against the Packers - a gamen that is/was set to be a ceremony for him to retire his jersey - would rock.  [sm_devil]

My opinion is that he probably did talk with Bevell as they are old friends.

My other opinion is that if Thompson and McCarthy give him his unconditional release they will be unconditional morons.

I said it before and I'll say it again. Watching Favre trot out in purple for the 1st game of the year against the Packers - a gamen that is/was set to be a ceremony for him to retire his jersey - would rock.  [sm_devil]

landing favre would definitely put the vikes into nfc champ game level reality , especially playing in that weak division and with a relatively soft schedule.

Boy howdy!

It will never happen though.  Speculation is they will not grant his release, nor consider trade offers.  They will offer him a roster spot in camp as a back up to Rodgers.

He'll refuse, and remain retired.

Agreed.

I just can't believe they will ever release him outright. I do think they will consider trade offers, though it would be a pretty limited number of teams both sides would have and I don't the lists would be the same.
