Title: LOL @ myself...
Post by: MFAWG on April 07, 2007, 05:40:21 PM
How 'White Trash' is this:

I'm sitting on my couch in an old work shirt (has my name on it, even) with the sleeves torn off, drinking a Miller (ORIGINAL Miller, TYVM) and I have a partially disassembled Rochester Dualjet on the coffee table, and a variety of small hand tools, as well as the rebuild kit...

I wonder if there's a Dukes Of Hazzard rerun, or I could pop in a tape of an old World Of Outlaws show (I have several hours worth), LMAO...

If your can is on a coaster, I see no problem.

[Edit] A 6 month old copy of Road and Track qualifies as a coaster.

I don't subscribe to any of those rags. I'm actually using a Jeggs catalog.... ;D

This thread has gone completely over my head (sense-wise).  Are you guys gonna make me google it?

I'm rebuilding a carburetor on my coffee table, and I'm wearing a shirt that looks like this:

(http://rds.yahoo.com/_ylt=A0Je5mcMRxhGBuYAhwyjzbkF;_ylu=X3oDMTBsMW5yM3VoBHNlYwNwcm9mBHZ0aWQDSTA2Nl84OA--/SIG=128oaukgp/EXP=1176082572/**http%3A//www.ballyhoovintage.com/miva/images/23086.jpg)

Only it's light blue, not any kind of clean, and has 'Jim' on it.

It also has the sleeves torn off, and yeah I have the vintage ink to make that look work...

Carburetor on the coffee table?  *scratching head*  Wouldn't the kitchen table give you more room to work?

Where would I put the cylinder heads, valves and rocker arms then, Ms. Smartypants? Huh? Huh?

The coffee table. :D  And you could move the coffee table close to the kitchen table (if the layout of your house allows for that) so they'll be within reach when you need them. ;D

I guess not. *sigh*  Next time my dad needs help, I'll tell him women don't understand these things so I can't help.

Just to complete the picture, you should be smoking Marlboros.

Only smoke when I'm awake, but the brand du jour is Pall Mall filter.

If I was REALLY doing the 'White Trash' thing it would be either Top roll yer owns, or GPC menthol...

Back to the OP, it seems you are "taking you work home with you".  I have read several articles in Good Housekeeping, and Ladies Home Journal, that strictly advise against it. I'm no Dr. Oprah, but I would say:  "Mr. carburetor, your stealing my me time!"

You should take this months Cosmo. quiz.  It's a ****ual fulfillment compatibility assessment, but I think if you just replace erogenous zone, on # 7 with butterfly valve;  and  post coital cuddling, with 7 mm open ended wrench, on # 13, you should find the answers you need.

YMMV

He'll get to that right after he's done greasing his universal.

MFAWG, to be done properly, you should be wearing no shirt and your trailer's front door -- to the extent that it has one -- should be wide-open.

Trust me, it's an entirely different dynamic when it's your own car. Besides, I don't really work on them much any more.

It is nice that I was able to pull it off the car while I was at work. Kind of slow yesterday, which is how this started. I was just going to replace the choke pull off, figured out that the choke linkage was bent and then it just snowballed.

FWIW, this Rochester is junk, which means I'm shopping for a Holly. Heres a little known factoid: All V8 Omega's from this year have a 4 barrel manifold, even if the car was equipped with a 2 barrel, which is why the Dualjet looks just like a Quadrajet without the secondary's.

No metric anything on this one... ;D

Do you live down the street from me? I swear I saw you yesterday doing exactly what you are describing.

Except I thought your name Jimmy Ray.

You need to move into a bigger trailer.
