Title: Uncomfortably numb
Post by: Walfredo on June 19, 2008, 09:47:41 AM
So I had a follow-up dental appointment this morning at 9:00 to replace an old almagam filling that was probably circa 1988.  Pretty painless procedure except I'm still *goshdarn* numb now.  I'm starving but if I tried to eat I'd undoubtedly bite my lip and give myself another canker sore.  And the last thing I need is another open wound.  So I'm hungry but can't eat.   :hungry:  [sm_cussing] [sm_banghead]

Follow the Stroh Diet.

Coincidentally, I leave in about 15 minutes for the dentist to have an old filling excavated (with interest) and re-filled.  Last time, it took five injections.

Went with a large chocolate shake from Braum's and a side of french fries which I couldn't resist.  I'll dip the fries in the shake to soften them up.

So you decided to subject that brand-new filling to hot and cold foods?  Sink or swim, baby!

I'm now rocking the urethane methacrylate composite.  And the left side of my jaw matches my conscience.  Braum's, huh?

What, did they hand you a *fudge*in' pamphlet?

Yeah it wasn't my first rodeo so what the hell.  No harm done it seems and no discomfort.

Braum's is a local fast food burger/shake joint that also has a small grocery.  They produce the dairy products they sell as well as bakery goods, cookies, ice cream etc.  All good quality stuff and very fresh.  Every neighborhood in the city pretty much has one on the corner which is very convenient.

It may surprise you to learn that I'm somewhat of a nerd.  So I looked at the spent packages lying on the work area, saw "Gradia", and asked, "Is that the composite stuff?"  Assistant said yes, so I looked it up when I got back to the office.

That's how I roll.

'Fredo, you had your appointment at 9:00 and you posted at 11:47?  I had mine at 2:00 and it's now almost 6:00.  We must have gotten the same *feces*.

My mom has some dental procedures coming up, 'cept she isn't going without anesthetics.  I'm sure that will hurt, but on the plus side, dentists tend to be more careful when they know you'll feel some pain.

On a side note, it's pretty interesting how dentures are made.

My brother in law does that.  Refuses novacaine.

I need novacaine, valium, and four point restraints.
