The notion that it's completely rigged is confirmed. Title: Re: If only this were true Post by: gleek on May 18, 2012, 07:35:09 PM More (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/05/18/facebook-ipo-live-updates-fb_n_1526829.html)
Quote The record will show that Facebook stock ended its first day of trading at $38.23, a gain of 23 cents above its IPO price. What it won't show is the unbelievable effort by its underwriters to hold the stock price above the $38 level for a huge part of the day. What is this? "Too big to fail" all over again? I dumped my shares at 39. Were you able to buy at 38? Yeah, e-trade got me 1,000 shares at 38 before it opened. I was planning on holding for a few days, but didn't like what I saw on Friday. It's definitely true that the underwriters were propping it up to keep from dropping under 38. They had huge bids at 38.
