Title: What's on your Black Friday list?
Post by: Teed on November 20, 2007, 09:52:36 AM
Not much this year for me.  Last year was a different story.  [sm_shock] ;D ;)

- Maybe a MP3 player
- Thumb drives can never have too many
- Memory Stick Pro for camera
- And hopefully a couple of HD-DVD movies will be on sale.

42" HD TV for the living room. Some of you bastards here are evil with some of your threads.  [sm_devil] ;)

Possibly a compact digital camera.

Possibly an mp3 player for my daughter.

{edit} Aske reminded me. I'll be looking for a GPS unit for my wife.

I don't shop on Black Friday but I'll be watching the ads for price drops on all the gear I recently bought.

Thinking foosball table might be in the cards this year but I'm not sure that's a Black Friday item.  Especially since I'd be inclined to go pool hall quality rather than the "toys" you see in big box stores.

Staying the hell away from any retail establishments is the number one item on my Black Friday agenda.

There's a chance I go to 50"

But the room isn't that big and 6'-8' is a good bet.

However.......when I get the basement finished someday......... ;D 8)

Here's the one that I've seriously been looking at:

http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_05775597000P?vName=Computers+%26+Electronics&sbf=Brand&sbv=Panasonic

They're running an $1199.00 special through Dec. 1.  Everything I've read about it has been fairly positive.

103"   :o

I concur with Aske that bigger is better.  I went with 56" as it fit the space better.  If I'd gone with 61" as he suggested it would have fit the viewing distance better.  It would have come close to overlapping windows/treatments though.

I'm very, very happy with the size of my unit, errrrrm, display, but I'm glad it's not smaller.

Regretably nothing. And I'm with spacey and stroh.

Although, the wife is working so walking around crowded stores filled with mostly women. The accidental bumping or grabbing does seem somewhat appealing.

I'm been avoiding all the Black Friday ads because I don't want to see anything I might like.  I'll stand in line for a Wii, PSP, iPhone, and Star Wars movies, but Black Friday lines scare me.  A GPS unit is tempting, though. :-\

Already bought my big ticket (43" plasma)
Maybe an mp3 for the youngest, memory stick for sure. I'll be looking at the online options, no line waiting for me.

I'd like to get a GPS unit, too, since I can get lost in my own house.

Anybody have any ideas about which one will do the job without hurting me too badly financially?  I don't need it to play music, make phone calls, or dice potatoes.  I just need it to tell me where to turn, and ideally using street NAMES and saying the directions aloud so I don't get too distracted looking at the darn thing.

Thanks in advance.

I have new clothes on my Christmas Gift Idea List given to the missus for her own consumerist activities and dissemination to certain relatives.  They'll ignore it, but I have to try.

Nothing says Christmas like telling people exactly what you want them to buy for you.

New clothes are the only thing on my list.

My parents are getting me a new pair of boots

Mark Nason Vibrato  http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/21759888/c/74810.html

I'm also getting a new double-breasted military sytle herringbone coat that is pimp as well.

My wife is getting me a new watch.

Hair products are so easy to come by now with my wife being in hair school.  She gets everything for cost at the state beauty supply stores.  If everyone knew how much hair products I used I get smited.   8)

If the extra 1/2 yard of cowhide is a burden;  For the general welfare of Utah public streets and highways, I'm willing to pitch in for the difference.

It's how we want you to roll.

Sears is definitely on my list, as I will be working there from 7AM-4PM. :sad3: All aside, I've worked Black Friday for the past three years, and I've shopped several years before. I'm glad to be on this side of the register. It's actually a fun day, but, then, I'm a bit of a masochist.  [sm_naughty] [sm_whip]

No, I think you have to go to the 890 for RF.  Quite a bit pricier.

I heard on the radio last night that Wal-Mart will have all "sports titles" @ $19.99.  Including all '08.

Madden, Tiger, MLB, Rasslin', et. al.

I won't go, but considering most of them typically retail around fitty bucks, that's a good deal.
