Title: if/when you eat in for lunch @ work (not at sit-down restaurant..)
Post by: Clive on April 17, 2007, 06:55:47 PM
Do you use the napkins and cutlery in the person's lunch that you're eating, or do you use the napkins and cutlery you stole from a restaurant?

It really depends on whose lunch I have stolen. Some of those cheap bastards never bother to bring forks and spoons from home.

I'd use office owned ones.

Then there's no need to wash them or anything, just throw them in the bin with the stolen food container.

Spacey!!  Why would you eat someone else's lunch when your wife takes the time to pack a lunch for you?  :nono:  (And besides, you shouldn't steal.)

Sometimes people bring better stuff than what my wife packs for me (especially when it's lasagna for the 9th or 17th day in a row). Honestly, what choice do I really have?

To eat what your wife sent for you and to be honest.

[Whisper] Ok, huddle up!  Now.  I know we talked about the Saltine dry humor, slipping off of most people, like expensive talcum on fuzzmental's head.  But, to stay in the game, you gotta throw out a bit of juice now and then to get the wad to stick?  Huh?  The fish won't bite a completely empty hook, but the school will fight over a hook, baited with another  one........huh?  Alright!!  Now get back in there, and give it to him! [/Whisper]

[whisper] lol :D  That's why I added "and be honest".  He did say "honestly" after all... Okay, I'll try that again. :D[/whisper]

What other choice do you have?  Honestly, spacey, try being thankful that your wife sent any lunch with you at all!  I mean, think of all those poor co-workers of yours that have to head over to Arby's for lunch.

Much!   [sm_thumbsup]

You see.  I like the tie in, from another thread (more points) on some poor sap like dystopia, that doesn't even see it coming.  Ha!  Arby's for lunch.  Who eats there?  What tool.

;D ;D  Thanks. I thought that might add a little something to it.  I wasn't exactly talking about dystopia though. And, yeah, who (http://www.golfhos.com/forum/index.php/topic,3116.msg40726.html#msg40726) eats there? :D

I wasn't exactly talking about dystopia though.

Neither was I.

Just a little barb, within a barb(to tax the analogy).  Self deprecation, with a named diversion, is a good "go to" technique for those of us, not as skilled as the pros, that can whip up some really decent prose.

[whisper] I caught that. I just thought I'd add a little link for those that wouldn't have caught it. :D [/whisper]

Fair enough.  But considering the talent here, it's kinda like bringing a ball to the course, in case Stevie didn't put enough in the bag. ;)

True, true.
