Title: a bit of a weird topic, but maybe somebody has opinion/advice
Post by: Aske on September 28, 2006, 06:59:49 PM
so, last saturday, I was gonna go watch jackass v2 (ok,  i'm sick, i know).

i bought my ticket online around 2pm for a 530 pm   show

i showed up at the theater  around 415 (its in a mall complex, and I wanted to look at a few stores first).  there were fire trucks outside, and the doors are roped off.

i enquire to the firemen, they say they don't know when/if it will be open the rest of the night....

so I go back around 5-510  to see for an update, and i see printed signs on the doors saying 'theater will be closed for the rest of the day'.   there were no employees around to be found

i call their corporate hotline saturday around 700 (after getting home) asking how to initiate a cedit card refund (well, actually, I left a voicemail since no human answered the phone).

tuesday around 2pm,  i had not yet received a call back.  so I call the corporate line and (again) have to leave a voicemail.

here it is,  approaching  midnight of thusrday going into friday.  I have no calls returned to me and no refund on my card.

bear in mind, it takes about 90 minutes  round trip to drive to the theater, so dealing with it there is not so much an option.

so what do i do?
call them again?
call the card issuer?
call the bbb?
?

Call the card issuer, then go sit in the corner and think about what you did, actually trying to pay good money to go see Jackass 2.

Can you call the theater and talk to a local manager?  I doubt the corporate office is even aware of the closing due to fire.  The manager of the theater has probably already dealt with lots of people with the same problem.

I guess the complexity arises because your card was billed online.  If it's a theater that you go to often, maybe you can get the manager to give you several passes to make up for it.

**EDIT** crap, I didn't read all the way to the end.  90 minutes sucks, I'd still try calling the local manager, though.  What theater is 90 minutes away, something near Seven Springs?

**EDIT 2** sheesh, I still didn't read it correctly.  duh 90 minutes round trip.  NEvermind.  I need to find some coffee....
