Title: $ not a factor .. ?
Post by: Aske on December 09, 2006, 12:18:16 PM
if it were free, or you were a billionaire with $ to blow

what would your set of clubs be?  what's different than your current bag?

I'm building some clubs in January that represent probably everything I want (and I'm going to an all Wishon bag, except for the putter). Even if money were no object I really can't imagine a bag I'd rather have than what I'm building. The fact that Wishon components, FST shafts, etc. are more than reasonably priced is just gravy.

for me

i'd move from my Nak 380 to the Nak 460   ... just for a bit more forgiveness...  (assuming I could get one dead* neutral face angle like the 380 )   same shaft tho

i'd upgrade my feel irons to their gunmetal counterpart, and same for the wedges

i'd reshaft the irons to FST problack lites, or apollo humps (just for the hell of it)

Progressive irons. Enough said.

I'd get fitted for the proper shafts.  And then have some component clubs built for me.

I'd probably still use the same equipment that I have now... the only other I'd do is build my own golf course ;D

1) if it were free, I bet my clubs were be completely different from my current bag, as I would acquire one of everything to test them out, and my current bag would likely lose.

2) If I were a billionaire with $ to blow, I'd buy a golf company and have new clubs designed specifically for me. ;D  (I can picture them now...maybe a pimped out set for corp. outings....maybe another set with a Transformer theme, with a driver resembling Optimus Prime, a Grimlock sand wedge, a weird purple Shockwave putter....)

You would probably find a lot to talk about with him (I think you mentioned once you interned with "Air Products"?).  My cousin's company: http://www.ecoquestintl.com/index_home.asp .

Do you guys know that this is a network marketing or multi-level marketing (MLM) based company?

Yes, I'm aware that it is an MLM-based company.  However, maybe I should have been a bit more specific about than just saying it's his company.  I didn't mean he's just a successful businessman selling the products, I mean he's the big guy at the very top, Mr. Owner of the whole company.

I suppose I'd have to try out some of those $1000 Ozik shafts.  I'd buy another R5 TP head and use it strictly for shaft testing and I'd be out at the driving range with quick set epoxy having a grand time trying out all sorts of shafts.

Sorry, bro, but they claim me.  So much so that they have adopted me as their neice.  But, I haven't seen/heard them call you nephew....

Now to answer the original question...I'd probably pretty much stay with the same bag now expect go to a reputable club fitter and be fitted properly and tweak the set that has been fit by static means.

I can't say that anything would change that isn't already going to change (a new hybrid and maybe switch back to my old putter).

Dude, I'm with you.  I'd spend the money on endless lessons.

The clubs, other than being fitted properly, make little difference.  You could have any brand and any type of club, but if you're not swinging properly, it won't make any difference.

In my opinion.

Wouldn't make a difference if you couldn't swing properly.  There are days when I hook it, slice it, hit it fat and hit it thin and, let me think, no I don't think the bias of the club made any difference. ;)
