I was working my way though several good cell phone rants, and then it hits me.

First:  I watching all these people on the damn things.  Walking out of the building.  Driving into the parking lot.  Sitting at lunch. All *goshdarn* day.  Every *goshdarn* day.  One thought seems to keep reverberating through my mind. 

Who the *fudge* are you talking to??!!

I don't have a cell phone.  Even if I did (I will get an iphone at some point, but I guarantee when I get it I will use it more to surf here than anything else.) I wouldn't want to talk to anybody.  I talk to enough people as it is.  When I did have one, I put about 4 minutes a month on it.

Karen:  Will you pick Maddie up?
Mike:   Yep.
Karen:  See you at home?
Mike:    Bye.

I mean what, am I gonna call my BFF at lunch to see what's going on?  Call my long lost Uncle Earl to catch up on my drive home?  I know!  I'll try to be the 11th caller on KS95 to try to win Miley Cyrus tickets.

I use only a fraction of my minutes each month.  I DO use the cell to catch up with my folks, as I've never been that good about calling regularly.  If I'm driving a ways (highway trip) or walking the dogs around a park someplace where they don't need close supervision, I'll throw the headset on and chat with my mom or dad for a half-hour.

Other than that, *fudge* all y'all.

You should get a cell phone so that when your progeny grows up and becomes a teenager, you won't embarrass him/her.

Preach on brother. Checking the timer on my cell phone, I have 108:15:54 logged over the last two years. Unless I'm doing my math wrong (and I probably am) that means I average approximately 9 minutes per day on my phone. I use this phone for work and personal calls. I have a phone at my desk, but no land line at home. *fudge* talking on the phone.

My 17 year old sister in law came to visit over the weekend. I bet 10 whole minutes didn't pass the entire weekend without her talking on the phone or sending a text message.

If she actually spoke on the phone rather than text'd, she's kinda way out there on the edge, or else she's not really 17. 

Or a girl.  I'd advise a chromosome smear if you can't convince her to drop trow for a brief peek.

Good point, although, she may well have hers before I have mine.

My average cell phone useage per month is about 2000 minutes +/-.

I average another 2500 minutes or so on the phone from the office.

By the of the day Friday, I do not answer another phone call unless it's my wife calling me - sometimes I avoid her calls as well.  I live on the phone and email. 

While I hate the phone, I hate email worse  [sm_devil].

The half of the phone conversations I heard typically consisted of: "Okay mom  ::)... alright mom  ::)... I won't mom  ::)... no mom  ::)... no mom  ::)... I will mom  ::)... no, I don't want to talk to... hi dad  ::)... no dad  ::)... I'm not dad  ::)... alright dad  ::)... I won't dad  ::)... no I don't want to talk to... hi again mom  ::)... no mom  ::)...."

I have one, which I hardly use (I like to have it in the car, incase something ever happens.)

The only time it ever rings is on my days off work, (I'm at golf) and it is Russell and he is always giving me jobs to do, such as go and get him this and go and pick this up up for him. ::) ;D

I only have a 300 minute plan (unlimited data though  :D ) and have only exceeded it once or twice in 5+ years.


Like, just a little while ago - good buddy calls me about travel plans for the weekend.  If it were not for my 4 minute rant about DishNetwork  [sm_devil], the call would have lasted 1 minute (we're like a married couple, or at least like stroh and his wife).
