Title: Metallic Golf Balls - Crospete Chromax
Post by: dystopia on August 27, 2007, 05:40:31 PM
I've never heard of Crospete golf balls before, but they were behind the B432 black ball from a while back.

This metallic-looking one is pretty funky.

Their currency balls are even funkier.  :o

I'd pay £5 to knock a British monarch 250 yards down a fairway.

I reckon the line would be long though.

The blue and silver metallic are rather kool.

Oh, Kevie! You could be a very nice brother by purchasing some for me. :D

I played 18 with these metallic balls yesterday, and I liked em. The Crospete Chromax MI, the gold is really easy to see in the air. Looks very cool rolling on the green also. In this kind of weather (wet and cold) and on greens that haven't been cut for a bit, they putted real smooth. They play straight, rolled a ways on the wet fairways, they're durable, and they have a nice wow factor with the buddies. They held the green. My opinion might change in the summer, I don't know. It says "soft" on the box, course that doesn't mean anything. Anyway, they were on sale at Fiddlers Green, my closest big store for $10 for 6, online they're more than that. They aren't on Golfsmith or TGW, but they are at Amazon, or can be found on a Google search. Nice little ball, especially in the winter or wet weather. I also drove it further than anything else I've been using lately.

Indeed, this is a friendly little place.  Lots of fun, much bantering, references that go over my head, diverse info topics, etc....

Do you have any hobbies for the winter months?

You can laugh, doesn't bother me! :-) However, I'm on the coast with moderate weather, and I keep playing quite a bit in the winter. hehehe

Well... I'm pretty much a golfer and very little else, but I do play online quite a lot also, thus I'm posting here. So yes... surfing the net would be a hobby. :-) What are your hobbies, Eagle? Do you do snow sports or sledding?

The garage will suffice until we get more snow.  Hopefully, by January we'll have enough to jump off the house. :D

In the winter, I pick up crocheting. I'll do small projects in the summer, winter is for the bigger projects.  (Well, maybe not smaller vs. bigger projects necessarily because even doilies can be a big project, they're just not big and warm.  Afghans and blankets I guess would be a better description for winter, and doilies and other things that don't end up folded on your lap for the summer.)

Computers, writing, reading, and photography are a good hobbies for both winter and summer.

I love snowmobiling, but I don't have my own so I haven't been out for quite some time.  (Our winters haven't had a good amount of snow for it either.)  Ice fishing is another thing I enjoy, just waiting for the ice to thicken.

Torpedo and I take our younger siblings sledding, and I do enjoy going down the hills with them.  I've thought about getting a snowboard, but can't justify the expense just yet.

Oh, and as Jules already mentioned, Torp and I have made a sport out of jumping off the garage in the winter. :D

If you count shoveling as a sport, then I'll include that, too.

Other than that, not much.  I really don't have time for all of them, so it's rather pick and choose. But those are what I enjoy on occasion.

I found a good pic of those Chromax MI metallic golf balls. They're purty!

Eagle, my mom used to crochet a lot, I think she enjoyed doilies the most, she ironed em flat and putem all over the house.

Well, jumping off the garage is great, as long as you have a soft snow landing. What techniques do you use in this sport? Probably not head first, but I guess you never know!

I tried snow boarding, but I wasn't very good at it. I'd probably be better at surfing, they do that in wetsuits around here, but I need to get over being scared, or just admit I'll never do it.

I used to ride a lot of motorcycles and bicycles, but I've pretty much given that up for golf now. Shoveling certainly is a sport, one gets tuckered out real fast doing that! I like my doggies a lot, and visit my grandson when I can. I also do some Mobile DJing for weddings, schools, and parties.

The metallic golf ball post was clearly a ruse. She obviously found the site via Google search for Boo Weekly Quotes, snagged a Chili Verde recipe, read the epic tragedy Departmentium Vehichulus  Vici Cliveus, got bored with us and took off.

Thank you, I like it. I went to the golf superstore nearby and tried out the new square drivers, they didn't do a thing for me that my little sumo wasn't already doing. Alas, no.  I'm of the Utard contingent.  We're small in number, pudgy in stature, alcoholics by providence and have curious affections for hoodies and midline gauge clusters.  As you might guess, we are completely fulfilled.

Clive is more the wandering minstrel ne: failed troubadour.  He travels coast to coast in a psychosomatic haze performing various procedures and surgeries upon his person while maintaining adherence to speed limits and patent filing guidelines.  It sounds much worse than it really is.

Kismet places us in Southern Oregon from time to time where we, in no particular order, savage the Rules of Golf, discuss the merits v. horrors of gravy volcanoes and consume copious measures of Bridget's Brew.

Eagle Point looks to be a worthy destination.  Our itinerary being subject to the vaugaries of detoxification shakes and the unavoidable false alarms of cross-continental testicular self-examination anomalies it seems doubtful we might ever make it that far.  Please enjoy your visit and report back in detail.

And finally... please allow me to properly welcome you in the approved GolfHos manner.

Calla, you're gonna need to let go of whatever little piece of sane reality is keeping you from giving this board more attention.  This place operates more like a chat room than any kind of "golf" forum, and we just can't achieve that kind of wasted man hours unless we have everyone throwing away what society may deem important, with full abandon, and logging some decent time here pounding out bad puns and insults.
