I am getting so tired of "Re-releases".  My kids got me Pan's Labyrinth for Father's Day.  Now, another version.  It's bad enough we have 2 competing HD formats to confuse the consumer.  I pretty much stopped buying DVD's until there is a clear winner.  Now, I guess I'll stop buying anything!

Bah, humbug. [sm_banghead]

I hear ya.  In past years when I was asked for a list of gift ideas I'd like, I'd just write down a bunch of dvds.  I went with books and boardgames this year.

re-releases can be annoying,  i DO wish they would just offer the plain, special, ultimate all at the same time and let you choose then and there which one you want.

as for hd/br   neither is going anywhere anytime soon i don't think.  you might be waiting quite a while.    why not pick up the one that has the most movies you like?   they'll keep working for a long time and there will be legacy player support for them.

anyways,   there was another one i didn't initially post that really caught me off guard.

i got Stardust as part of the B2g1  promo,  based on a pretty good imdb rating distribution.    not the best thing ever, but lots of fun for me and sal.  not quite on the level of greatness of princess bride, but one tier below for sure.

Stardust was one of the nine HD-DVD titles they have in stock today at the closest Best Buy.   :o
