Title: How to get into FGI Post by: APTech on January 08, 2007, 05:56:27 PM Go to c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc and look for a file called "hosts". Change the filename to something like "hosts.old" and restart. IIRC, this file stores the dns info for websites and sometimes does not get updated with new dns info.

Of course, if you actually use /etc/hosts for anything this approach might cause countless other problems. Assuming you have windows, have you tried opening up this file in notepad: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC\HOSTS then adding this line to the bottom: 67.15.83.238 www.freegolfinfo.com then save it and try your browser again? It'll fix itself. You're right, if you're not comfortable messing with the hosts file and/or it's not your machine you're asking for trouble. Usually set to 24 hours but it's completely up to the hostmaster. |
