Title: Spacey's new HD set up- Now with pics
Post by: spacey on November 11, 2007, 07:57:04 PM
was picked up yesterday. I'll post details and pictures within a day or two. (Keeping in mind that it took Walfredo like 6 weeks to post his Adrian Peterson autograph.)

More like 2 1/2 but who's counting.   ::)

I swear every retirement home out there will have HDtv before mine.   :sad3:  Possibly even prisons.   :sad3: :sad3:

I think it will be quite a while before I can justify/reconcile the pixel interpolation resolution over vewing hours.  :sad3:

to be fair, watching the vikes  in HD would probably make the experience WORSE.    ;)  :watchingyou: [sm_beertoast]

You guys didn't think HD stood for Hi-Def did you?  [sm_devil]

I picked up the bike on Saturday in Arvada, Colorado. After a quick ride on it to make sure it ran well and didn't have any apparent problems, we loaded it on a trailer and towed it (very slowly in some spots) back home.

Pics aren't very good still because it's in my poorly lit garage, because the weather was too *feces*ty yesterday to take it outside to get good pics, but here it is (in "stripped down" mode, I have more pics of it in touring mode as soon as my brother emails them to me):

(http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i41/darthsimmons/Misc/HPIM1377.jpg)
(http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i41/darthsimmons/Misc/HPIM1378.jpg)
(http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i41/darthsimmons/Misc/HPIM1379.jpg)
(http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i41/darthsimmons/Misc/HPIM1380.jpg)
(http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i41/darthsimmons/Misc/HPIM1381.jpg)
(http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i41/darthsimmons/Misc/HPIM1382.jpg)

Lessons learned on my trip:
- Laramie is a horrible little town but cutting the corner to Ft. Collins (thanks for the tip U.B.) is definitely a better way to go than through Cheyenne;
- Rooms in the Denver area are not hard to come by at 3:00 a.m. but they are expensive: $85 at the Super 8, $55 at the Motel 6;
- The extra $30 to stay at the Super 8 would have probably been money well spent;
- A Toyota Tacoma towing a trailer with an 800lb bike strapped to it doesn't climb mountains very quickly;
- Despite any tip to the contrary that might have been given to your brother, the Harley Davidson dealer in Grand Junction, CO is nothing special and is hardly worth going two hours out of your way to see.

Of course that's what he(she) said.  But you've been married long enough to know that that's not how it ever goes down.

Nah. I tried withholding **** (she does want a baby after all) but who am I kidding there? She wants it, she gets it. So instead I just used things that I was planning on doing anyway (helmet, protective gear, etc.) as bargaining tools, making it seem like I was acquiescing to please her.

And I didn't say a single word when she said she wanted to replace all the windows in the house.

What's up with that? Why do women always want to do stuff like that? Paint the house, change faucets, change windows, replace the door, change the carpet. We can spend that money on  a lot of other fun things, TV's, golf, bikes, computers, GPS units, HD-players, Xbox, strippers. OK maybe not the GPS but you get my drift.
