Is there ANYBODY, ANYWHERE in 'Merka still laboring under the false impression that these are anything but professional athletes?

That's fine, but apply the rules equally.

The rules ARE applied equally: Money talks, bull*feces* walks.

If Cam Newton was playing at Bull*feces* State U, he and the program would be dead. But since he plays in the SEC for the top ranked team in the nation, he gets a pass.

OK. I see what you're saying. You're saying the NCAA is party to the entire sham, whereas I think the corruption is mostly at the university and conference level.

Exactly. Corrupt top to bottom, everybody knows it and nobody REALLY gives a *feces*, all high falutin' rhetoric aside.

Every few years, they target a high profile program that's usually ALREADY on a downslide, enact the 'Death Penalty' or some other scary sounding penalty. It's pretty much window dressing. The coach gets away scot free, the kids that graduate go on to the pros or whatever, and the only people who REALLY get impacted are the kids in the program at the time. The incoming classes get to play in a 'Big Time' school instead of going to Bull*feces* State U, so even they don't get hurt THAT bad.
