1  General / The Cantina / Re: "they did it too" [Big Auto Detroit] on: June 09, 2008, 03:34:37 PM

Now the pendulum swings back to cars, and especially to fuel-efficient cars.  And that's where Big Japan has held its edge this whole time.

I agree.  Big Japan already kicked Detroit to the curb on small cars in the 70's and 80's.  But Detroit could have been doing more to develop a better small car while the high margin SUV's were rolling off the lots.

To be fair, knee-jerk Democrats are just as bad, except they're bigger pussies.

The article says metered usage is common overseas.  I wonder if there's outrage over there or are we being a tad too tough on korprit merka.   Cool

My guess is they were stolen property.   Smiley

If I had one I would stamp FU2 on the sole.
7  General / The Cantina / Re: Reason # 121 Why I Could Care Less About FIGS on: March 14, 2007, 01:50:17 PM

I like their products regardless of their actions on FiGS.  I'm not going to hate on them or anything because of that.  And I've also gotten nice personal emails from both of them in the past.  It is a shame however seeing the way their online personas have played out of late.
I agree completely.  Also, when I could care less about something I typically don't post about it.   Wink
8  General / The Cantina / Re: GolfHos March Madness Contest on: March 11, 2007, 08:26:20 AM
Oh yeah, even if you don't know anything about college basketball, you should fill out a bracket anyway.  It makes the tournament much more fun.  Plus, if you end up winning, it makes everyone who thinks they know what they're doing look foolish. Grin

Yeah, it's easy to just pick the better seeded teams most of the way through and make a few exceptions based on uniform color, appealing mascots, or whatever you prefer.  You'd be surprised at how well a bracket like that can do.  Just don't pick a 15 seed to get to the finals or anything too wild like that.

At 12 I had no idea what I wanted to do and I just hoped I'd figure something out before I was booted out of the house.   Wink

I still like them.  Back in Black is good but I also like a lot of their older stuff with Bon Scott as lead singer.

It says women are more savvy about the role appearance plays.  This means the attractive females will rise to the top.  As they become the major decision makers, looks will become even more important to getting ahead.  No wonder I see so many artificially whitened teeth.  Wink
12  Golf / Golf Equipment Discussion / Re: Gripped/Regripped 35 clubs today on: March 05, 2007, 03:35:56 PM
I can sympathize.  The most I've done at a time was a set of irons plus a couple other clubs and it was enough.  I've been regripping a lot longer than actually making clubs so I enjoy the rest of club building much more.  Gotta love brand new grips, though.   Smiley

... On the phone the other person can't see you rolling your eyes or making faces in response to what they're saying, and it's easier to conceal ****ual attraction.
Or give the impression that you're wearing pants.
I expect that's assumed by the other party, unless maybe if I was talking to you.  Smiley
14  General / The Cantina / Re: My first Golfhos poll on: March 02, 2007, 08:16:27 AM
I'd have to say writing, although I am better on the telephone than in person.  On the phone the other person can't see you rolling your eyes or making faces in response to what they're saying, and it's easier to conceal ****ual attraction.

Never seen them.  I thought maybe they were popular with, like, A Clockwork Orange fans or something.
