Title: The latest materialist acquisition in our place...
Post by: Aske on December 01, 2006, 11:25:49 PM
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?cpncode=08-17333477-2&dest=9999999997&product_id=5230642&sourceid=1500000000000002375450&srccode=cii_9686437

it's about all we could afford and fit in our place,  but it's a start...

Sweet. Adjustable dumbbells would be a good pickup too, when you can do it. Viva la resistance (training)!

well, we didn't expect the best gym quality  elliptical (and certainly didn't get it...   but it works, and thats what matters,  looks and little 'wobble'  aside... )

but I haven't seen a non-Bowflex ($$$)  adjustable dumbell for sale...   anyone else make them ?

The Bowflex adjustables are teh sukk. I have some Wieders, which are a coupla years old, that work +infiniti. I don't know how readily available they are. Best type, IMHO, are the "free weight" kind, where you buy a bar (handle) and add or subtract weight plates as necessary. Unused plates take up little to no room. Look on sears.com.

yeh, I used to own adjustable plate set
 :)

was just hoping to find an 'all in one' that works and fits the budget, if possible.

of all the things we lost in our move,  my set of 25# dumbells never made it here.  the 45's did, and sals  5's  did...

weird.

5 lb dumbbells ain't no good unless you're 300 lbs and haven't moved further than the distance to the fridge in the last 5 years. As always, YMMV.  :o

but i really do miss the 25's.   they worked perfect for in-apartment  biceps, shoulders,  triceps,  and the  45's worked great for lats and pecs.
