I think it funny, sad, hate and all that.  The fact that they had them arrested seems to suck ass but perhaps I'm missing something.

From what I've read so far, I have to agree with this guy:

Never would I eat somewhere where the "tip" is pre determined. Sub standard service is almost a guarantee. What is the incentive for the waitstaff to excel?

That being said, if you knew going in that was the deal......

What are the odds that she's a bitch, he's whupped, and the manager/bartender is an *bunghole*, all at the same time?

First, anyways, here's my thing:  owner claims he "offered" to comp the meal, what is 18% of 0.00  ?  In my book, that's 0.00.

Secondly, the owner is going to comp $75 but then gets butthurt about $15?  Way to lose $, moron.

Third, mandatory gratuities are essentially tax shelters for the owner, on top of the whole tip scheme to begin with.

Interesting.  Thanks for the link.

I agree with everything above.

Let's say you go to McD's (  [sm_disgust] ), order 6 combo meals, etc, get home and realize there's only 5 fries.  You go back and get in a dispute over it,  he-said, she-said type of thing.  (Assume..) they insist they gave you 6 fries.  Can you have them arrested?

Well, to start, I have seen at least 2 links here that would advise me not to call 911 over it.   ;D

I once ordered a double-double in an In-n-out drive-through and noticed it only had one patty.  I parked and stormed into the joint full of sound and fury.  When I showed them the burger, they pointed out that there were indeed two patties but because of the way they were stacked one of the patties was hidden.

I once ordered a "Double Hamburger" Kid's Meal thinking it came with two hamburgers. When I looked in the bag and saw only one, I returned with my bag and showed the manager my receipt. He looked in the bag, opened the burger from its wrapper, and said, "Yes, the order is correct. We gave you a hamburger with two patties."[sm_anon]

Bu-Bu The Customer Is Always Right!  [sm_devil]

That would make for an interesting FML-type website.  customerisalwaysright.com (domain is taken though)

Anonymous Stories from the Retail Front Lines.  Aside from asshats like me at fast food restaurants, I've seen some crazy interactions in the grocery checkout line and in Return/Exchange lines.
