end of forward progress and down by contact there?

Title: Re: Bears- Saints
Post by: Aske on January 21, 2007, 01:36:27 PM
ugh, what a pathetic 1st half.  grossman  3/12 for 37 yards

nawlins with 2 lost fumbles (1 very dubious call)

bears 16-7 @ half

Another 3 and out for Da Bears. Grossman's passer rating is currently 40.3 to Brees' 126.9.

When Grossman's passer rating drops below the temperature, watch out! Something wonderful will occur.

where is the supposed great D from 'da bears'  aside from the fumble recoveries, they are getting smoked

Title: Re: Bears- Saints
Post by: Aske on January 21, 2007, 02:10:46 PM
saints must be averaging about 15 yards a play over the last 12-15 plays

Title: Re: Bears- Saints
Post by: Zoot on January 21, 2007, 02:18:04 PM
looks like no more running game as the saints will make Grossman win through the air.
setting up for a good finish as long as Brees has the hot hand going...

I find it impossible to believe the Bears have ZERO penalties to this point

are there a pair of worse corners than the saints have

jeez, bears receivers suck , grossman sucks, and they're still playing soft soft cushions.

That are the chances that the Bears won't end up with the ball with this kind of officiating?

Were you watching the same play as me?  Clearly it was a fumble recovery by the Bears.

FWIW - I don't have a horse in this race.

i was watching it.  it WAS A fumble.   what it was NOT was  down by contact  prior to  ugunleye  fumbling it away.  he was bobbling it when he was 'pinned' down with the 2 hands in the back

Jan weather and mix in a bears d that played up to their billing just to much for a team that plays in a dome.

Brees flagged for intentional grounding while in the end zone.  Safety by rule.

Looked like a fumble to me, too.  The guy hand it tucked in one arm solidly; it wasn't until he got up that a Saints lineman knocked it out.  And I wanted NO to win.
