Quote
On other topics, McCain:

_Defended his selection of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate and cast her in a fresh ideological role.

"She is a direct counterpoint to the liberal feminist agenda for America," he said.

I could make a pretty good argument that Sarah Palin's political career is as much a result of the 'Librul Feminist Agenda' as a counterpoint to it, but it doesn't matter that much.

What you have to be astounded by is the political tone deafness of the statement:

If McCain is hoping to attract  Air quotes disenfranchised Air quotes Hillary Clinton supporters, slamming the movement that many of them would identify with and some of them were actually a part of is probably not too smart.

He continues to try to shore up The Base, and there just aren't enough of them left to do him any good.
