Same thing happened to our big guy about a year or so ago. He has a habit of jumping the last five steps off the deck, onto the brick pad at the base of the steps. Snapped a toenail WAY up there. The vet did not knock him out before clipping it and cauterizing -- I was on the phone to my wife from the parking lot and heard the yelp.  Healed nicely, though. |
