I remember reading a story about Eric Clapton. Apparently, Michelob contacted his agent  about sponsoring his tour. Eric, concerned about 'Selling Out', told his agent to name the most outrageous figure he could think of to do it.

Anheuser Busch  immediately said yes, and so did Clapton.

Lars Ulrich said: 'Sure, we sold out. We sell out every night on tour'.

I do take the point. There's a fine line between Seger and Townsend who have more money than God 'Selling Out', and James Osterberg financing another trip to rehab.

Let us not forget when the **** Pistols were used to sell Mountain Dew. Though I think you'd have a hard time finding bigger sell-outs than KISS.
