So I met the Australian Prime Minister the othe day...
« on: February 16, 2009, 12:09:15 PM »

For most of the past week I've been out on the road managing the Bushfire situation for the insurance company I work for.

I was at one of the Relief Centres on Sunday when Prime Minister Kevin Rudd appeared.

He came up to me and said:

"G'day, Kevin.. how's it all going? Good to see *><><><**><><><* Insurance out here, you guys are the face of Insurance and a doing a fantastic job, keep up the good work" Shocked

Did you ever do the move to Cairns and become a pot smoking hippie and work for John Howards' surf patrol thing?

'Cuz that kinda connection to two prime ministers in one lifetime is no small feat.

Did you tell him "Thank you, but it's Simon, actually."?

This thread reminds me of last nights new Flight of the Conchords episode, in which they deployed just about every negative Australian stereotype in existence.

"Too bad New Zealanders are a bunch of cocky A-holes descended from criminals and retarded monkeys...throw another shrimp on the barby, ride around on your kangaroos all day."

"No no no, that's Australians.  You're thinking of Australians.  That's not us."

"Neila, you can uncover your eyes.  They're not Australians"
