I owned an '83 Escort (first car purchase) and a '91 Tempo ("gift" from mom).  Shocked

Actually they both ran like champs and were pretty dependable little autos...........

True story..... I needed commuter wheels and Mom was getting a new car. Like you said, Tempo wasn't worth that much and she signed over the title to me.

A year later a hail storm hit and the insurance totaled it. They gave me a check and my Mom hasn't let me forget it ever since.  Grin

But I will say that car gave me no problems and served it's purpose well for a couple of years.
