Not that I ever go out to bars anymore, but I'm glad to see the private club and "zion curtain" laws gone. Last year our esteemed legislature also managed to allow us a 1.5 oz shot as opposed to the 1 oz shot that had been law for years. We're slowly limping our way into the 20th Century, for sure. Our laws remain still rather quirky, though. (No doubles, only 3.2% beer on tap, etc.)

As with all things related to liquor in Utah, though, for everything they fix, they'll find something else to screw up. From this latest session- new restaurants that will serve alcohol must have a separate "dispensing area" away from public view to pour and mix drinks, in the name of thinking of the children. Existing restaurants will be grandfathered in. Explain that one to me.

Anyway, the way our legislators are whooping and hollering over this latest round of liquor law reform, you'd think they'd brought peace to the Middle East.
