St. Paul - The number of new cases of chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis in Minnesota climbed to a record 17,650 in 2008, officials said. That was an increase of 3.5% from 2007. Of the new cases of ****ually transmitted diseases in 2008, 14,350 were chlamydia, a 7% increase.
