AVP:R [SPOILERS (maybe)]

this easily ranks as the a t-3rd best (at least in enjoyable, funfactor, repeat viewings, probably not in terms of actual film-making hehehe) in the series (Aliens, Predator, and AvP)  behind Aliens, Predator 1, and tied with Alien.   

wow, it's not original or subtle, at all. there's not really acting or dialogue.  just a completely formulaic mashup of just about everything that made Aliens and Predator work, and everything that was missing in AvP.     

lots of amazing throwback touches including some sounds and music from each of the individual films, some nice updates to the predator tech,  an amazing amount of aliens finding some new ways to accelerate breeding,  what else can be said without spoiling too much ?

the fact its getting almost universally panned is a great indicator.

I'll get around to seeing it this weekend.
