the funny thing is, Brazil probably doesn't want to win this. (hokey superstition, sampling size 3) no team winning the confed cup the year before the wc has won the wc the next year. I think only once has the winner even made the semis IIRC. |

Yes, he needs to go. As soon as I saw Kljestan warming up I was furious. Sasha has been *feces* for months now - no where near match ready, especially in the most important match our country has ever played. If Benny was spent, put in Torres, Adu, even Mastroeni. Someone that would not give the ball away so easily, or poorly. The first goal caught me by surprise and I was still nervous, knowing that Brazil can overcome it. But when the second goal was scored - a fantastic goal - I was shouting so loud I think I disturbed the neighbors dogs. Great stuff!!    With a 2-0 lead I really thought we could win it - and we should have won it. For me, the Kljestan substitution was inexcusable. Granted he wasn't the only one giving up the ball, but given his limited time on the pitch he sure gave it up a lot. Possession is better defense than tackles - deny the opportunities rather than defend them. Kljestan just left us defending them. Its really not that bad a result, but the manner in which it occurred really pisses me off. Sure, we cannot expect to beat two of the best teams in the world in the same week - but the fact is we had our chance and blew it.  |
