The 6-iron really is the ideal weapon, isn't it? In a fracas, I'm definitely not grabbing a wood, hybrid, putter, or wedge. The 34-year-old man, Nicholas Jay Shampine, had been convicted of assault in King County Superior Court.
At Thursday's sentencing, he said he was sorry, but also claimed he was defending his brother in the clash a year ago between two groups of golfers.

Definitely a wedge. Head weight rules in a brawl. Hmm, I'm not sure how much control I'd have wielding a heavy-headed wedge. (which explains the state of my short game) |

Y'all need to live in an open carry state. X2. I feel awkward enough trying to use them for their intended purpose. I read a story about the beginnings of golf in 'Merka. Irish immigrants had their clubs impounded by police, believing them to be weapons. They had never heard of golf, nor even seen clubs. I'll have to search for the story. Or maybe I saw it on the Golf Channel. Either way. |

2 things explain ALL of this: SEATTLE - A 34-year-old golfer was sentenced to 21 months in prison Thursday for bashing another golfer over the head with a 6-iron during a fight on the Auburn Golf Course last year.
You START Auburn pissed off because they charged you almost 50 bux to play that piece of *feces*, and Nicholas Jay Shampine of Puyallup was sentenced after his conviction on second-degree assault charges in King County Superior Court. If it sounds like meth, it's probably meth. |
