The poll was conducted for the website, Daily Kos.

I wonder what segment of the GOP was polled.

Not saying it's right or wrong, just that I am skeptical that any poll conducted for the Daily Kos will most certainly be biased*. I have yet to talk with anyone who thinks this issue is anything but nonsense.

*and before the *feces* gets thrown back at me I feel the same about polls conducted for similar right wing groups/media/foundations.

Actually upon reflection, if this poll is to be believed it wouldn't be that many people. There just aren't as many right of center folks who consider themselves GOP anymore.

Carry on.

While the GOP is being reduced to its bottom of the barrel, nutjob, fringe elements, what's happening to the Democratic Party isn't necessarily good for its progressive base. As moderate Repubs continue to jump ship, the progressives are being diluted and the party as a whole shifts to the right.

Ann Coulter is trying to suppress the wingnuts on this issue?  Hard to believe.

Quite honestly, who feels this "constitutional requirement" is anything short of ridiculous anyway?  Why isn't the discussion about why a person born in Canada to American parents on holliers or a six-month old immigrant subsequently naturalized cannot be elected POTUS?  It is a decidedly arbitrary condition.

How sad are you if you have to resort to claiming Obama wasn't born in the U.S. to define your opposition to his presidency?  These people are barely functional lobototards.  Hell, the "Obama is a racist" gig at least has the benefit of a twisted sound bite or two.

Still, having said all that, I have a hard time putting a lot of trust in...

However, some top conservative hosts including Ann Coulter and Fox News' Bill O'Reilly have sought to quell the notion Obama isn't a citizen because of a political fear the party will be identified with the fringe elements trying to drive the argument.

Unfortunately, nobody really gives a *feces* what either of those 2 say anymore. O'Reilly in particular has pretty much been reduced to interviewing OTHER conservative talkers to fill time on his show.
