Don't get me wrong, I find it annoying too. Going around being rude, obnoxious and in print about it should be reserved only for those button issues when in cups. Unless you are rickP. I agree with your facsimile of it, which matches my own description. If that's all there was, I don't see any apology. prof is a member here, maybe he will fill us in too.

I meant "quasi-apology" in its "Yeah, you're right, that was intemperate" sort of way.

Thanks - I knew I had posted the torpedo'd thread and guess I missed Ringers. I think we had a thread like that right after the FGIM showed. Thought the resolution was that Torp could locate them from time to time just don't flood the clubhouse with them but turned out others torpedo'd several threads -- I guess to test the FGIM. For one, I don't mind them being torped from time-to-time.
Appreciate the insight.
Yep. And I've never flooded the clubhouse with them except for when I very first joined ...

Give the kid (true) a break, will ya, prof? (yeah) I'm fairly good at deciphering the terse posts, and especially his posts. He was agreeing that his first comment was a little over the line, IMFO.
It was "Cut the kid ( true) some slack, will ya, prof? ( yeah)"

It was "Cut the kid ( true) some slack, will ya, prof? ( yeah)" That sounds closer to verbatim than what I wrote. But the important question: do you interpret it the same way?

Well, FWIW, I think you're wrong. I've met professor. He has a gruff FGI persona, but he's no LickD_ in real-life.

Yeah, I know how he posts, and it doesn't bother me even if that is what he meant ... I don't take anything personal on forums ...

For the record: I did say I find "torpedoing" annoying, and I do. But I also said I find it really no more annoying than posting ancient jokes, dubious hotties, or half the other stuff people post, and that it's plenty easy to close the thread (or not click on it in the first place) and move on to something else without complaining about it.
