[Spoiler] "The Bank" Is Open!

Surprised M. Le Fuzz didn't post this first, but in retrospect, he is a Badger alum.

Big news here, not sure if word is out nationwide, since we are fly-over country.  The U of M built a brand new outdoor football stadium on campus.  TCF Bank Stadium.

For all the goofy *feces* this state does, and is known for, this is a very nice, classy, well done addition, and move for the state.

Tonight was the inaugural opener.  Very exciting. 

Gophers vs. Air Force.  Tickies were going from around 300 bucks a seat and up.  They'll be off the charts for some marquee Big 1011 games.

I chose not to go for the final decision in a multi year debate that resolved no booze in the stadium.   

Gophers on the board first with the first points scored back on campus since '81.  39 yard field goal.

Mn up by 3 at the close of the first quarter.


Ski-U-Mah!

It is a beautiful stadium and I definitely look forward to catching a game or two there. But.... ...when I was younger I used to go to Memorial Stadium which was a really nice outdoor, on-campus stadium.

And then the local "experts" (some of whom are around today hailing the return to campus as the greatest gift ever) decided the Gophers needed to move to the brand-spanking new Dome. 

It is very cool they are back at home and playing outdoors.
