Craigslist Etiquette?

Ok.  Starting to liquidate.  How do you guys handle selling stuff?

First come fist served?  First guy to respond with interest, give him a chance/some loyalty?  First one here with cash in hand takes it home, I don't care what story the first guy told me on the phone?

Etc., etc.

How say ye?

I generally start a list. Give the first guy that says he'll take it a chance to do just that. Tire kickers don't get a place on the list, just takers.

That's kinda where I'm at too.

Run into a couple of tough ones today.  First guy says I like it, I want it.  I can be there by "X" (say 4 - 5 hours away)  then get an email or call saying I can be there in 10 minutes with cash.

Tough call on some of them.

FTR, just sold a tool box to the above scenario.  Guy called at noon, couldn't get out til his wife got home, watching the kids, etc., but true to his word, he showed up and bought it.  In the mean time I got umpteen calls about I'm 10 min.s away i can show up now with cash, and I want it.   Undecided

Now I'm dealing with the same thing on a desk.

Oh, and the FleshLight collection.......Oy Vey.

Are you not going to be needing those any more? You are still going to be married, right?  Grin

Good point.  I guess I'll actually need them now more than ever.

I'll probably just buy factory direct out there.

Actually, I was just making the observation that having the wife under the same roof or 2000 miles doesn't really change the "**** with the wife" situation.  Grin

I'm in the "money talks" camp. I showed loyalty one time and got screwed and I still have the damn thing in my shed.

Then again I don't have a fleshlight collection

I've been BS'ing some guy about a bicycle he has for sale for months.  But there isn't many people wanting to drop $300 on a vintage 80's Trek 620 touring bike built for guys 6'3" at least.  So I have this guy waiting until I can justify it as a Xmas present to myself next month.  By now he may reject $300 cash for it thinking I'll pull through.  But I wouldn't be mad if someone came with cash and got it before me.  I've been trying to haggle him down.  I can live without it.
