Roads suck! Drove on ice from MSP top Omaha. 25 mph for long periods of time. The good news is I wasn't one of the 90+ cars and trucks I saw in the ditch. Bummer. Looks like a 3 day trip now. Pulled over for gas and am siphoning somebodys wi-fi.  damn, that sucks! I remember doing the drive from Pittsburgh to California 15 years ago with my car packed to the gills. I took I-80 almost the entire way, but I bet you're taking a southern route. |

Oh yeah. And my beer froze. lol. get to sleep! One other memory I have of that trip was being completely surprised when there was a checkpoint entering California. I was pretty sleep-deprived at that point and thought I had gotten very lost and was about to cross into another country.  Then I was relieved when it turned out to be an Agricultural checkpoint. The relief quickly went away when they suspiciously eyed the plant I had in the front seat. But after I said it was a houseplant, they let me pass. |
